To find out if now is the time to buy, check out this week's mortgage highlights:

• Mortgage rates dropped significantly last week as markets celebrated more welcome inflation news.
• The core Producer Price Index for October came in with a negative 0.1% reading.
• This brings the annualized reading down to “only” 6.6%.
• While the reading is still high, it is a significant improvement from its 10.1% high point this spring.
• Import and export inflation reports also dropped for the month.
• Adding to hopes that inflationary pressure might be starting to recede.
• Other than an above-expectation Retail Sales report and level weekly jobless claims, other economic news 
•     showed some signs of economic slowing. Industrial Production, Existing Home Sales, and the Leading 
•     Economic Indicators all posted negative readings.
